Naga City, (May 3, 2011) – Not everybody is on board on Mayor Bongat's gambling-free drive. Breaking his silence, city councilor Salvador del Castillo who heads the committee of Games and Amusement, candidly reveals that he personally favors the operation of legal gambling here, particularly the Small Town Lottery that he believes could reduce or weaken the proliferation of the illegal numbers game known as jueteng.

NAGA CITY  (9 January 2011) - - A TOP BRASS of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in Bikol recently answered public inquiries that the PCSO in Bikol has not received any current directive to terminate the franchise or contracts of Small Town  Lottery (STL) corporations which were earlier allowed to operate.

DUMAGUETE CITY, Nov. 18 - The operation of the Small Town Lottery (STL) will only be allowed if the local government unit concerned will allow it, according to Secretary Jessie Robredo of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Robredo’s clarification comes in the wake of reports that the operation of STL is being forced by the government while keeping the numbers game "jueteng" illegal.

Robredo, however, admits that there is a problem in Metro Manila, where STL has apparently become the legal cover for jueteng.
