MANILA, Philippines (Nov 28, 2011) – The death of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) renegade commnader Ameril Umbra Kato comes close to being confirmed after MILF officials said yesterday that they have information that Kato died Saturday evening.

Von Al-haq, military spokesman for the MILF, confirmed receiving the reports but clarified that these had not been verified.

“That is the information we received, that Kato died yesterday (Nov. 26) night at around past 6 p.m.,” he said in a text message.

TRIPOLI (AP) – Moammar Gadhafi stood defiant yesterday in the face of the heaviest and most punishing NATO airstrikes yet — at least 40 thunderous daylight attacks that sent plumes of smoke billowing above the Libyan leader's central Tripoli compound.
