MANILA, Philippines (Dec 29, 2011) - The Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 126 of Caloocan City recently dismissed a civil complaint for damages against GMA Network and Imbestigador host Mike Enriquez filed by plaintiff Ronald Virola owing to episodes of Imbestigador aired December 14 and 28, 2002.

The said episodes carried a story on Virola, whose house in Caloocan was raided on the strength of a search warrant for allegedly containing undetermined quantity of regulated and/or prohibited drugs, one of which is labeled as Ativan. Likewise searched were video tapes containing nude and obscene footages of different women, who seem to be under the influence of such drugs and victimized by his sexual escapades.

MANILA – Media giant GMA Network reaped accolades at the 2011 Anak TV Seal Awards held last December 8 and in the PopDev Awards held on November 29.

Broadcast journalists Mel Tiangco and Mike Enriquez, anchors of GMA’s top-rating primetime newscast 24 Oras, were elevated to the Anak TV Makabata Award Hall of Fame after seven years of consistently topping the annual surveys of TV personalities who are “trustworthy, reputable and are role models to children.”

Leading television station GMA Network, Inc. (GMA) clearly dominated the 2011 Golden Screen Awards for Television held last Tuesday (November 29) in Greenhills, San Juan -- bagging more than half of the 50 awards given away that night.

GMA’s News and Public Affairs team lived up to the distinction of being the country’s most credible and most awarded broadcast news organization with a number of recognitions led by its banner newscast 24 Oras, anchored by the formidable tandem of Mike Enriquez and Mel Tiangco, winning as Best News Program.
