Azkals lose to Kuwait Al-Azraq, 0-3

KUWAIT CITY (July 24, 2011) - The Kuwait Al-Azraq nailed 3 of their 20 attempts to beat the Philippine Azkals, 3-0, in the first leg of the second round of their World Cup 2014 Qualifying match last night. The Azkals were held scoreless as none of their 7 attempts was converted.

The Philippine Azkals, put on the defensive most of the time, pretty much held their ground until the 17th minute into the hard-fought game when Yousef Nasser nailed the only goal of the first half.

Azkals lose anew to Kuwait Al-Azraq, 1-2

The Philippine Azkals drew first blood when Stephan Schrock nailed a goal from 20 yards, ending the first half up 1-0. But the celebratory mood of the Filipinos would soon fade.

Sunday, July 3, was a historic first for our country: our men’s national football team, “Azkals”, clobbered Sri Lanka 4-0 in the second leg of the first round of qualifiers for the World Cup 2014.

Sunday, July 3, was a historic first for our country: our men’s national football team, “Azkals”, clobbered Sri Lanka 4-0 in the second leg of the first round of qualifiers for the World Cup 2014. Thus, with an aggregate score of 5-1 against Sri Lanka, our Azkals have moved up to the second round, which will be against Kuwait later this month.
