Minalabac Camarines Sur (June 20 2011) - A large tropical green turtle (Chelonian mydas) was released back to sea after it was trapped in a fish net in Ragay Gulf off Bagulatao, a coastal village here.

Minalabac Camarines Sur (June 20 2011) - A large tropical green turtle (Chelonian mydas) was released back to sea after it was trapped in a fish net in Ragay Gulf off Bagulatao, a coastal village here.

Town Mayor Gil Basmayor Jr., said Philip Oco, a fisherman who caught the turtle, turned over the sea animal to authorities upon learning that it is already included in the list of endangered species.

There is something about black. Black dresses, black tie dinners, Johnny Cash, black pearl jewelry and a black pearl necklace. Black is classic. Black is cool. As long as it is not black coral. Black coral has been harvested to decimating levels. It can be found in the Caribbean waters off of Mexico and Belize. These countries are beginning to protect the coral, but it is still being poached and decimated.

President Noynoy Aquino’s ceremonial tree planting at San Antonio, Ocampo, Camarines Sur last February 23 was a welcome boost to both the National Greening Program (NGP) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and to the Camarines Sur Provincial Government which had launched the “El Verde Movement.”

PILI, Camarines Sur ---- While trying to beat a slot for the Guinness World Book of World Records by overpowering India for its record of 50 million trees, the local government of Camarines Sur also wants to send a message of hope for a greener province by showcasing the importance of flora and more vegetation to our environment.

This message did not only capture the support of the local constituents of Camarines Sur but other organizations as well who have already pledged their support and commitment to simultaneously plant trees on February 23.

The Climate Change Academy will hold environmental classes at the Bicol University campuses starting this year as stipulated in Executive Order No. 2011-02.

Heherson Alvarez, Presidential Adviser on Global Warming and Climate Change Secretary said that Rosales is recognized as an instrument of environmental activism.

The awarding ceremony will be held at the NBN 4 studio in Visayas Avenue, Quezon City on April 18, 2009.
