  • Naga City – Several Punong Barangay candidates and kagawads supported by Mayor Jesse Robredo were defeated during the recently concluded October 29 elections.
    Four of Robredo’s supported candidates as Punong barangay lost to their opponents while some of his incumbents who ran as kagawads were defeated by a large margin of votes.

  • Naga City (November 14) - City officials here urged for the creation of a local police force under the supervision of the mayor to serve as augmentation force in maintaining peace and order in the locality.
    While attending the senate hearing on peace and order crisis involving the City, City Mayor Jesse Robredo said that this idea presented itself as an alternative solution to similar problems that any locality will confront.

  • Naga City – A reward of P100,000 is waiting to any witness who can provide positive identification of suspects in the robbery-hold up incident last week at a Jollibee restaurant here.
    The Naga City Sangguniang Panlungsod  approved in its regular session  the allocation of the said amount in order to effect the immediate arrest of suspects.
    According to City councilor John Bongat, Chairman of the appropriations committee, the amount was already approved and is ready for release in case a possible witness comes out to identify suspects.

  • Naga City – The local government of this city is set to file cases against Police Senior Superintendents Bal Tira, OIC PNP Regional Director for Bikol and Romeo Tambungui, Camarines Sur PNP Provincial Director.
    This is in connection with the perceived unwarranted relieve of 14 organic member of Naga City Police Office.

  • Bula, Camarines Sur – (March 28) A high ranking officer of the New Peoples Army (NPA) died in an encounter with the Philippine Army  in a remote area of this town as government troops verified a report from civilians that the armed rebel group celebrated their founding anniversary.
    Died from several gunshot wounds was Vicente Avocado also known as “Ka Tony” and “Ka Persie,” the Secretary General of Front Committee 74 of the New Peoples Army operating in the first district and fourth district of this province including the town of Bula.

  • Naga City - (March 29)  A Bikolano made it to the top ten among  the passers of the 2007 Bar Examination  held  last September  at the De la Salle University  in Manila.     Atty. John Michael Galauran was ranked fifth in the recent Bar Examination given by the Supreme Court with an average grade of 81.09 percent.
