AdNU Celebrates 70th Anniversary

Naga City (5 June) - The Ateneo de Naga University (AdNU) celebrates its Platinum or 70^th founding year today in a series of activities centered on the theme "Richly Blessed, Richly Giving."

Known for the quality education it provides for secondary and tertiary levels, AdNU marks its 70 years of being a Jesuit, Filipino, and Catholic University in Bikol.

Among the activities scheduled today are a "Dawn Procession" with INA at 5:00 AM, and the Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration at 7:30 AM held at the University Christ the King Church.

The blessing of the newly-airconditioned James O'Brien, S.J. Library is at 9:30 AM and is immediately followed by the book launching and lecture of Bikol historian Prof. Danilo Madrid Gerona on "The History of the Ateneo de Naga University."

Open House activities consisting of games, tree planting, talks, film showing, and others are scheduled from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

The "PLATINUM MOTORCADE" proceeding from AdNU High School Pacol Campus to Centro to AdNU Bagumbayan Campus is set at 2:00-3:30 PM.

At 4:00-6:00 PM, the ATENEO DE ZAMBOANGA UNIVERSITY BAND CONCERT will be held at the University Gym

The ATENEO ANNIVERSARY BALL at the University Gym at 8:30 PM culminates the anniversary celebration.
