UNEP Extends Support to Archdioecesan Congress

Naga City ----   Members from various religious organizations of Caceres, religious communities and parish pastoral councils from the Archdiocese of Caceres gathered on May 22 at the Holy Rosary Minor Seminary for the 1st Archdiocesan Congress of Ecclesial Communities here with the theme "The role of ecclesial communities and the Laity in the Public Square,"

The event was spearheaded by the Office of the Religious Movement (OREMOS) of the Archdiocese of Caceres, through the support of the Springs of Life Catholic Charismatic Community (SOLCCC)-UNEP Chapter. His Excellency, Most Rev. Leonardo Z. Legaspi OP, DD graced the occasion with his presence as the congress' main celebrant and preacher.

Very Rev. Msgr. Rodel M. Cajot, PC. V.G., Vical General of the Archdiocese of Caceres, also the congress' keynote speaker, thanked all the participants for their inputs and invaluable support that led to the success of the event. "This is indeed a showcase of our faith in-action, where everyone, especially the working committees, has extended their time."

"We also would like to offer the success of this event to the Holy Spirit for coming down to us and in helping us to realize our goal, to our loving Ina, Our Lady of Peñafrancia for gathering us as a church today and for her 300 years of protection as Bikol's patroness," Msgr. Cajot added.

The Vical General of the Archdiocese of Caceres also thanked Most. Rev. Leonardo Z. Legaspi, for opening the way for the Ecclesial communities to grow in the Archdiocese of Caceres

Also working hand in hand with various committees were Msgr. Peter M. Beriña, Rector of the Holy Rosary Minor Seminary and the seminary fathers.  They have specifically extended valuable contribution for the success of the congress by providing technical assistance, including the use of the venue's facilities.

The religious event became a venue for the deepening of the devotion and strengthening of belief among its devotees.  Its participants, coming from various religious organizations of Caceres, religious communities and parish pastoral councils have also expressed their deep appreciation for being part of the occasion.
