Archbishop Leonardo Z. Legaspi
Naga City (16 January) - Caceres Archbishop Leonardo Legaspi has appealed to the Catholic faithful of his archdiocese to help the victims of the tragic earthquake in Haiti.

In an archdiocesan circular sent 16 January, Archbishop Legaspi appealed that a second collection during all Sunday masses of January 17 be made as aid to the victims of the intensity 7.0 earthquake in Haiti.

According to the circular, the amount collected will be immediately transmitted to the office of the Archdiocesan Oeconomus, which in turn will send the said amount to the CBCP.

"This gesture of kindness will certainly bring hope to the victims of the devastating earthquake," says the Archbishop.

Over 100,000 people were estimated to have perished in the earthquake, while countless others were injured and rendered homeless. Among those who died was Most Rev. Joseph Serge Miot, the Archbishop of Port-au-Prince.
