New Parish Opens in Tinambac, Camarines Sur

Bagacay, Tinambac, Camarines Sur (May 14, 2011) – Most Rev. Leonardo Z. Legazpi, Archbishop of the Diocese of Caceres, opens today the third and newest parish in the town of Tinambac in an elaborate ceremony called canonical erection and solemn installation of Parish of Saint Peter the Apostle.

In the same occassion, Rev. Fr. Victor P. Atanacio is installed as its first parish priest who shall minister to around 15,000 parishioners from the barangays of Bagacay, Buyo, Caaluan, Cawaynan, Bulao-Balite, Canayonan, Mananao and Cawayan.

Five thousand of these parishioners regularly go to the mother parish of Saint Pascual Baylon, Tinambac, and three thousand (3) to the nearby parish of Manguiring, Calabanga.
