MMFF’s Blockbuster King Bong Revilla Jr. and Primetime Queen Marian Rivera team up on the big screen

Last year, Senator Bong Revilla and Marian Rivera were rivals. Their movies were both entries to the 36th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) and had successful box office standings.

For the very first time, two of the country’s biggest stars pair up on the big screen as Senator Bong Revilla Jr. and Marian Rivera top bill GMA Films and Imus Production’s Panday 2, an entry to the 37th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

Senator Bong Revilla, who portrays the role of Flavio/Panday, admires the beauty and acting prowess of the Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera. He personally requested the film producers to include Marian on the film’s stellar cast.

Despite Marian’s busy schedule, she gracefully said yes and managed to be part of the grandest film entry for this year’s MMFF. She portrays the role of Arlana/Bagwis, a beautiful lady who could transform into a dragon and who’s secretly in love with Flavio/Panday.

The second book of Panday revolves on how Flavio/Panday struggles to defeat the awakened Lizardo and how Arlana/Bagwis makes an impact in the life of our hero.

Certainly, Senator Bong Revilla Jr. and Marian Rivera is the tandem to beat on the forthcoming 37th Metro Manila Film Festival. Their tandem on Panday 2 is expected to surpass its predecessor in terms of blockbuster earnings and cinematography.

Directed by Mac Alejandre, Panday 2 opens December 25, 2011 on theaters nationwide.
