Iggy Arroyo dies in London of liver ailment
MANILA, Philippines (Jan 26, 2012) – Earlier reported as clinically dead maintained only by life support system in a hospital in London, Negros Occidental Rep. Iggy Arroyo was declared dead at 11 AM (Philippine time today).
This was confirmed by election lawyer Romulo Macalintal who said he was authorized to speak for Rep. Arroyo's brother, former first gentleman Mike Arroyo.
"It has something to do with the liver," Macalintal said, referring to the disease of Iggy who went to London for medical treatment.
Rep. Arroyo was reported last year to be suffering from a lingering liver ailment and was seeking treatment abroad. (From Philstar.com)
