GMA-7’s “Big Thing” scores high in ratings nationwide

On its first week of airing (August 8-12), GMA-7’s new primetime Koreanovela, Big Thing registered a high average rating of 23.7% in Mega Manila households beating all counterpart programs.

Big Thing defeated its rival program, The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition, which scored an average of 15.9% in the same period. This is according to overnight data gathered by the more widely recognized TV ratings data supplier, Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.

The Koreanovela indeed captured the hearts of viewers not only in Mega Manila but also in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao . Based on Nielsen TV’s National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM), Big Thing had an 18.9% average household rating, which is higher than the rival program’s 16.7%.

This week, many unexpected changes occur in Maureen’s (Ko Hyun Jung) life following the tragic death of her husband.

After the visit of South Korea ’s president in Maureen’s humble home, both Edward (Kwon Sang Woo) and Victor (Cha In Pyo) urge her to run for congress. Edward sees Maureen’s concern for others while Victor notices her ability to attract attention.
