It will indeed be a green-lettered day for all the supporters and followers of Former Defense Secretary Gilberto "Gibo" Teodoro comes April 6, 2010. He will be at the University of Northeastern Philippines ' (UNEP) as commencement speaker on its 62nd Graduation exercise.

DAET, CAMARINES NORTE (29 March) - Top leaders of the Liberal Party (LP) in this province said that the assumption of Liberal Party member Edgardo Tallado as the new governor has strengthened not only his bid for the gubernatorial post in the upcoming May Elections, but also that of Liberal Party which has fielded candidates in the entire 12 Tagalog and Bikol speaking towns of Camarines Norte.

MANILA, March 23, 2010-After backing out from the presidential race, Charismatic leader Bro. Mike Velarde is eyeing a congressional seat through the party list. El Shaddai Charismatic group spokesman Mel Robles confirmed that Velarde and his son Rene are among the nominees of Buhay party-list.

Party-list elections, a failing democracy project?

MANILA - Two recent news reports do not bode well for party-list elections. In February, Pulse Asia reported that its January 2010 survey revealed that only three out of 10 Filipinos are aware of the party-list system. Pulse Asia added that it is only in the National Capital Region where party-list awareness is high at 51 percent of voters. Worse, Pulse Asia also reported that awareness regarding the party-list system plunged compared to April 2007 when nearly 6 out of 10 Filipinos knew about it.
