MANILA, Philippines – A Pulse Asia survey reveals that 69% of Filipinos like former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to stay in the country to face the criminal charges against her.

These charges include the non-bailable crime of electoral sabotaged for which the former president is now detained.

Sources privy to the results of the survey done by Pulse Asia said respondents were asked the question: “Do you agree or disagree that former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo should be allowed to leave the country to be able to seek medical treatment even though there are plunder and electoral fraud cases that have been filed against her?”

MANILA, Philippines (Dec 7, 2011) – President Benigno C, Aquino III rallies the support of  his partymates in the Liberal Party (LP) for lasting government reforms for the sake of the future generation.

At the LP Christmas party Monday night, the president urged his partymates to seize the opportunity to institute reforms in the country as they continue to enjoy the support of the people.

Aquino said he is effecting changes not for himself but for future generations as he reminded partymates that they must fulfill the promises they made to the people during the election campaign.

Manila Philippines (Dec 6, 2011) - Pulse Asia released today its nationwide Ulat sa Bayan survey conducted on 1,200 representative adults 18 years old and above from November 10 to 23, 2011 showing that President Benigno C. Aquino III still enjoys high approval and trust rating.

" In November 2011, 72% of Filipinos are appreciative of President Aquino’s performance while 74% trust him," Pulse Asia published in its website, adding only 9%, or less than one in ten Filipinos. distrust the President or is critical of him.

MANILA, Philippines (Dec 1, 2011) – Immediately after hearing the testimony of the main attending physician of former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, the court ordered the transfer the arrested ex-president from her $1000 a day hospital suite to a government hospital.

Pasay City court Judge Jesus Mupas today ordered the transfer of former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo from the St. Luke's Medical Center (SLMC) in Taguig City to a government hospital.

MANILA, Philippines (Nov 28, 2011) – Justice Secretary Leila de Lima has joined the calls of militant lawmakers for an investigation into alleged harrassment of the doctors of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo by her lawyers aimed at hiding Arroyo’s real medical conditionn and bolstering the legal arguments of her camp.

Earlier, Bayan Muna Rep. Teddy Casiño, Anakpawis party-list Rep. Rafael Mariano,  Gabriela Women’s Partylist Rep. Luz Ilagan,  Gabriela, Rep. Emmi de Jesus and ACT Teachers’ party-list Rep. Antonio Tinio - all members of the progressive bloc in the House of Representatives - called for possible investigation of the Supreme Court and Integrated Bar of the Philippines against Arroyo’s lawyers Jose Flaminiano, Raul Lambino and Ferdinand Topacio for the alleged “grand deception to hide the real condition of Arroyo.”...

MANILA, Philippines (Nov 23, 2011) – Finding probable cause, a  fact-finding panel of the Office of the Ombudsman has recommended the filing of graft charges against former first gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo for involvement in the allegedly anomalous second-hand choppers purchase by the Philippine National Police (PNP) in 2009.

The panel said Mike Arroyo has liability for "undue injury to the government" and "for entering into a contract grossly disadvantageous to government."

MANILA, Nov. 22, 2011— Tagbilaran Bishop Leonardo Medroso is against televising the trial of former president Gloria Arroyo’s electoral sabotage case, saying that it could disrupt the proceedings.

Medroso believe that any societal benefits from broadcasting the proceedings are heavily outweighed by the significant dangers it would pose to the orderly and secure administration of justice...

MANILA, Philippines – Pasay Regional Trial Court Branch 112 has approved the temporary detention of arrested ex-president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo at the St. Luke’s Medical Center as she awaits trial for non-bailable offense of electoral sabotage.

 “For humanitarian reasons the motion (for hospital arrest) is granted,” said Judge Jesus Mupas of Pasay City Regional Trial Court (RTC) branch 112.

“The court has agreed to a temporary hospital arrest due to her health condition and for humanitarian reasons,” clerk of court Jose Pelicano told reporters after the court postponed to Friday a hearing on the motions filed by Arroyo’s lawyers.

Also removed from the immigration watchlist were former Justice secretary Alberto Agra, former presidential political adviser Gabriel Claudio, Bong Serrano, Andrei Bong Tagum, Jeremy Javier, and a certain Butch.

The police deferred the booking of the former president in consideration of her medical condition when she was put under hostpital arrest yesterday.

Police photographers took the mug shots in spite of the request of the Arroyo camp that they just take the photos and turn them over to the the police...

MANILA, Philippines (Nov. 19, 2011) – The police shall take mugshots and fingerprints of former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo a day after the former president , accused of non-bailable offense of electoral sabotage, was served a warrant of arrest in her hospital room.

Last night, Senior Superintendent  James Bucayu, officer in charge of the Southern Police District who served the warrant, told the press that they were deferring the booking of the former president in consideration of her physical condition at the time of the arrest, adding that she would be booked “when she is ready.”

Spokesman for Judge Jesus Mupas  said the judge saw probable cause and instead of the anticipated hold departure order, an arrest warrant was issued and can be justified.

MANILA, Philippines (Nov. 16, 2011) – In a surprise move, the Department of Justice blocked the rush departure of former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and husband Mike in spite of a Supreme Court order permiting the former first couple to travel abroad.

Hours after getting the Supreme Court’s approval to travel abroad, Gloria and MIke were barred last night from leaving the country.

Pandemonium broke out at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 as the ailing former president – now a Pampanga congresswoman –and husband Jose Miguel made a virtual dash for the earliest flight out.

MANILA, Philippines - The Office of the Solicitor General has asked the Supreme Court to give them more time to comment on Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s petition to have her name dropped from the immigration watchlist and for a temporary restraining order (TRO) from the SC.

“It is respectfully prayed that respondent be given reasonable time to comment on the present petition and the application for a TRO before any action on the said application for the issuance of a TRO is taken by the honorable court, or that this very urgent manifestation and motion be treated as an opposition to the said application and that the same be denied for utter lack of merit,” Solicitor General Joel Cadiz said in a 16-page “very urgent manifestation and motion” filed with the SC on Wednesday.

Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's multi-destiantion travel abroad as the Justice secretary notes that the GMA will be going to at least three countries with no extraditon treaty with the Philippines, her travel is of indefinite duration and aside from medical treatment the former President shall also attend international conferences in the US and Switzerland.

"There is no compelling reason or immediate necessity for the former president to seek medical treatment abroad," announced De Lima. The announcement came after De Lima's trip to Malacañang early today...
