Miss Venezuela, Ivian Sarcos, is crowned the 2011 winner of the Miss World beauty pageant at a glittering final ceremony in London.

Wearing a pink dress with diamante studs that had giant frills slashed below the waist, the 22-year-old threw her hands to her face as she was announced the winner.

No less than Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse M. Robredo confirmed that del Castillo's appointment has already been signed by Finance Secretary Cesar V. Purisima.

The past days.The national media was abuzz with the possible resignation of Zubiri over serious allegations that the 2007 senatorial elections was rigged in his favor.

LEGAZPI CITY, Jan. 28 2011  – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) regional office here is conducting investigations on the circumstances behind the death two weeks ago of a Chinese national in a reported accident at a mining site in Lagonoy, Camarines Sur.

LEGAZPI CITY, Jan. 28 2011  – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) regional office here is conducting investigations on the circumstances behind the death two weeks ago of a Chinese national in a reported accident at a mining site in Lagonoy, Camarines Sur.

DOLE regional director Alvin Villamor on Friday said their investigations will focus on the health and safety aspects of the mining operations.
