NAGA CITY (Dec 14, 2011) - In the field of lawmakers that include Congressmen Edcel Lagman, a loyal Arroyo supporter, Dato Arroyo, former presidential son, and Rolando Andaya, Jr., former Budget secretary, 7 out of 16 Bicolano district representatives in the Lower House signed the resoluton to impeach Chief Justice Renato Corona.

Two of 3 Ako Bicol partylist representatives – Rodel Batocabe and Alfredo Garbin Jr. - also signed in, favoring the ousting of the Chief Justice.

In total, 9 Bicol lawmakers joined the 188 signatories to the Corona impeachment resolution.

MANILA, Philippines (Dec 12, 2011) - With swiftness that suprised many including the senators, congressmen-allies of President Aquino moved yesterday to impeach Chief Justice Renato Corona for alleged betrayal of public trust, violation of the Constitution, and graft and corruption.

In a dizzying turn of events, 188 congressmen – almost twice the minimum 95 signatures required for trransmittal to the Senate -  signed an impeachment complaint drafted by the committee on justice, leveling eight charges against Corona.

PROVINCIAL CAPITOL, Pili, Camarines Sur (Dec 10, 2011) – About 20 resolutions have been passed by different Provincial Boards all over the country in support of an initial resolution passed by the League of Vice-Governors of the Philippines that seek to defer the passage of House Bill 4820 (creating the new province of Nueva Camarines) and other similar bills

This was revealed by Camarines Sur Vice-Governor Fortunato Peña, a staunch opponent of the  partition of the province, adding that the resolutions were already forwarded to the Senate committee on Local Government.

MANILA, Philippines - A businessman who allegedly brokered a Manila Bay land reclamation-acquisition deal in 1995, and who has since disappeared, has surfaced in Camarines Sur.

George Triviño is reportedly now the majority owner of Caramoan Dam Hydroelectric Power Corp.

Caramoan town has drawn a lot of tourists to Camarines Sur owing primarily to its pristine beaches. It is part of the proposed new province of Nueva Camarines...
