CBCP decries Mamasapano carnage; urges peaceful solution

DAGUPAN City, Pangasinan, Jan. 27, 2015—The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) decries the “act of violence against human life” which led to the death of at least 43 policemen in a “misencounter” with members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters in Maguindanao (BIFF) Sunday, Jan. 25, in Mamasapano, Maguindanao, but remains firm in its support of the peace talks .

MANILA, Jan. 5 -- The Palace on Sunday defended the fare hike on the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Line 3 and the Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2. In a radio interview over dzRB Radyo ng Bayan, Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma, Jr., said the government is just implementing the 'user pay' principle under Philippine Development Plan for 2011 to 2016.
