The City of Naga will be hosting this year's Private School Athletic Association (PRISAA) National Games '09 scheduled on April 19 to 26, 2009.
Dr. Carlo P. Villanueva, president of Naga College Foundation and this year's Host PRISAA Executive Director, said that the working committees, along with the parallel City Hall Committees formed by Naga City Mayor Jesse Robredo -- are now doubling their efforts in preparation for the week-long event.
PRISAA National Games is an annual, two-week long competition in 16 Olympics sports events fully supported by the Commission on Higher Education led by Chairman Emmanuel Y. Angeles and participated by 360 private universities and colleges from 17 regions making it the best and biggest collegiate national game in the Philippines today. The city is expecting around 4,000 visitors consisting of athletes, coaches, officials, media men, spectators and tourists from all over the country to witness the PRISAA '09.
Her Excellency Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will be the Guest of Honor during the Opening Ceremonies on the 20th.
Also adding color to the week-long sports competition are the Bicol Festival Street Dancing Parade on the 19th, Smart Boxing Tournament on the 20th, Dance Sports Competition on the 21st, and the Mutya ng PRISAA '09 Pageant Night on the 24th. On the 26th, the guests will be treated by the organizers to a tour to the famous Camarines Sur Water Sports Complex in Pili and Mayon Volcano in Albay.
