NABUA, CAMARINES SUR - A LOCAL RESIDENT here, who were among three suspects in the slaying of a young nurse in Monterey Village, Naga City in August 20, 2008, was shot to death by a gunman inside her residence at Zone 6, Barangay Lourdes Young in this town, the local police reported to the police provincial office on last May 16.
The victim identified as Ruby Rosa Biares Alimagno was shot five times by a gunman using a Cal. 45 pistol, who was reportedly with two other suspects.
According to Nabua police chief, Sr. Insp. Julian Orbita a witness described the gunman as clad in black outfit; meanwhile five empty shells from a Cal. 45 pistol were found by investigators at the crime scene.
Reportedly, the suspects fled south-bound riding a red motorcycle with a motor-plate which says, "For Registration."
An investigator at the Naga City Police District Office had recalled that Alimagno were among three suspects implicated in the slaying of newly graduated nurse, Edelyn Bonanza Opiana, 23, a resident of Paulog, Ligao City and was training at the Bicol Medical Center during the occurrence of the crime.
The slaying of Opiana was initially investigated by the SOCO team of the PPO as a "robbery with homicide," after the victim was found with her throat slashed and several valuables and cash taken from her room at a boarding house owned by Carmencita Biares.
When the case was filed before the City Prosecutor's Office, three suspects were implicated in the murder case which included Alimagno, Biares and a certain policeman, SPO1 Oida, who was with the Nabua PNP.
The case remains pending with the City Prosecutor's Office, reportedly for insufficient evidence against the suspects. (SONNY SALES)
