C. Post Celebration Stage
1. Recording of the fact of marriage in the Book of Marriages. The Parish priest is responsible for seeing that the necessary information is recorded in the parish registers: the name of the parties; their parents; their witnesses; the solemnizing officer, etc. When a dispensation is granted prior to marriage, the date and the protocol number along with the dispensation are to be noted in the “Notations” column.
2. Annotation to the Baptismal Register. The contracted marriage is to be noted also in the Baptismal Register in which the baptism of the spouses has been recorded.
3. Registration with Civil Registrar. A marriage shall be reported for registration to the office of the local registrar of the place where such marriage is officiated not later than fifteen days after the marriage. The four copies of the marriage contract shall be distributed as follows: Original copy to the contracting parties; duplicate and triplicate copies to the civil registrar; and the quadruplicate copies to be retained by the solemnizing officer.
4. Notification of Marriage to the Parish Priest of the place of baptism. When marriage is celebrated, the pastor of the parish where the marriage is celebrated must notify the church of baptism of the parties.
- In case of Fil-Japanese Marriage, a notification to chaplaincy of Japanese Nationals in the Philippines has also to be done.
