Airlines to service Daet after 15 years

Daet, Camarines Norteā€”A new airline company is starting regular flights from this capital town to Manila and vice-versa sometime at the end of November this month, simultaneous with the town hosting of the 2nd WORLD ART EXPERIENCE participated by various national artists from December 10-15 this year.

Daet Mayor Tito Sarion bared that SouthEast Asian Airlines (SEAIR) president Avelina Zapanta signified interest to revive the airline service in Daet town during the National Tourism and Business Summit held here last August.

Sarion said that with the coming of the SEAIR flights, air transport would be revived in this town, after an absence of 15 years.

Reportedly, Daet town has one of the oldest airports located in the coastal barangay of Bagasbas built in the early 1960s.

SEAIR will be using in its regular flights, a 19 seater jet-aircraft that will service Daet to Manila at a fare of P 2,128 per passenger.

Nicanor T. Olonan, APS I / AIRPORT OIC manager of Bagasbas Airport lauded the intent of SEAIR to revive the airlines service in the province that has been gone for more than a decade.

Similarly, the business sector in province, led by Frank N. Lubbok, director of Atlas Consolidated Mining Development Corp. expressed full support on the revival of the airline flights which would facilitate travel of businessmen of the mining industry in the province.
