True to its mission of turning its graduates into real educators, the University of Northeastern Philippines (UNEP) has reasons to celebrate and pass on its good wishes to the ten (10) Education graduates after successfully passing the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) this October and making it to the list of new educators.
The good news is coincidentally in consonance with the vision of the university and its current bid to place its Bachelor of Education Program in high gear, according to UNEP President Atty. Remelisa Alfelor-Moraleda. "We know that a good qualification, proper training and also a favorable motivating ground is very vital for new teachers. Here at UNEP, we see to it that our graduates will be equipped with these traits for them to effectively become real educators."
The university president extended her message of congratulations to UNEP's new elementary teachers; Alex Zeus J. Botor and Leamie R. Dato who garnered an average of 20 per cent, against the national passing average of 18.67 %.
Seven (7) new secondary teachers also made it to the list: Jomel Balictar, , Ivy Fiona Enimedez, Pinky Lagyap, Ma. Lourdes Mirabel, Daisy Orcine, Imelda Sapin, and Apple Jean Tagum. They also surpassed the national passing average rate of 28.15% after garnering a remarkable 46.66 per cent passing percentage.
Dean Violy Lomibao of the College of Education also commended the new board passers for the job well done. "This is the fruit of our dedication to really produce quality graduates who will carry out the mission and vision of our university, particularly of the College of Education which is to turn its graduates into real educators." The College aims to produce mentors who are mentally, physically and spiritually fit to serve as model to the students and to the community as well.
Since its inception in 1948, the University of Northeastern Philippines (UNEP) has made remarkable achievements in various fields of learning. It has gone a long way since it started off as Mabini Memorial School from 1948 to 1952 then later renamed to Mabini Memorial Colleges from 1952 to 1972.
As a university, it offers programs for pre- school to post graduate education including TESDA curriculum. All of these courses were granted with DepEd/CHED/TESDA recognition. It was also granted permission to offer more diversified degree and non degree courses in Education, Business and Public Administration aside from the tertiary courses offering in Law, Nursing, Commerce, Education, Liberal Arts, Social Work, Criminology, Engineering, Architecture, Midwifery, and non-degree technical skills, especially for the out-of-school-youth.
UNEP will continue to inspire more and more students to become achievers as it continue to follow its vision and live up to the mission of being the HOME OF GLOBAL ACHIEVERS, today and in the years to come.
