Camarines Norte hosts 24th South Luzon Area Business Conference

DAET, Camarines Norte, Aug. 7 (PIA)–-The Camarines Norte Chamber of Commerce hosts the 24th South Luzon Area Business Conference (SOLABC) on Aug. 13 and 14 at the Pineapple Island Resort here.

Theme of the conference which is organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) is: “Strengthening Partnerships for Global Competitiveness.”

The event will bring together businessmen from the regions of Calabarzon, Mimaropa and Bicol to discuss measures to raise their global competitiveness amid the forthcoming Asean economic integration.

Organizers said they have chosen Daet as the venue of the activity in recognition of its status as the country’s most competitive municipality in 2014.

It is also regarded as an emerging economic growth area with potentials for investments, trade, agro-industrial development and tourism.

SOLABC will formally raise its curtains on Aug. 13 with a forum in the morning and a fellowship in the evening at the Lighthouse Catherine Hotel in Barangay Bagasbas.

The next day, Aug. 14, the conference opens its doors for a more engaging discussions and a trade exhibit at the Pineapple Island Resort.

Competitiveness through Good Governance-- Daet Mayor Tito S. Sarion; former Governor Rafael Cosculluela of Negros Occidental; Rex Drillon II, chairman, National Issues Committee Management Association of the Philippines and Guillermo M. Luz, chairman, National Competitiveness Council.

Managing Impact of Climate Change in Business--Albay Governor Joey Salceda, Jose Lorenzo Tan, president and chief executive officer, World Wildlife Fund; and Dante Briones, CEO, Renewable Energy by SANSOBI Solar.
