MANILA, Nov. 24, 2014 — At past 6:00 p.m., after the Angelus, the Thomasian community witnessed the awaited Christmas lighting this year accompanied by Christmas carols and a brass concert by the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) Conservatory of Music on Nov. 21 at the UST Martyrs’ Monument.

The putting up of Christmas lights on campus grounds is in preparation of UST Paskuhan 2014 on Dec. 8, with the theme “Pagdiriwang ng Pagmamalasakit: Tomasino Kaisa ni Papa Francisco at ng Simbahan sa Pasko.”

The lighting of a gigantic Christmas tree, situated at the left corner of the UST Grandstand, with decorations of chestnuts, stars and white and gold lights was the centerpiece of the season trimmings.

The UST campus was filled with glimmering maze-shaped lights and hanging silver and gold lights decorated the plaza mayor and surrounded the monument of Fr. Miguel de Benavides, O.P. (Vanessa Puno/CBCPNews).
