RAGAY, Camarines Sur (June 4, 2012) - The municipal government of this town has offered reward money to any informant who can help identify 2 suspects who two days ago brutally shot two fiesta visitors who were waiting to ride a bus at the Raymond Terminal at Barangany Poblacion Iraya.
Ragay Mayor Ricky Aquino said on Saturday (June 2) that the bounty of undisclosed amount shall be paid for by the local government.
The local police reports that two armed robbers shot to death Joel Alegre Dulfo Jr. 26, a factory worker in Metro Manila and his companion, Jeslie Camacho Angulo, 29, a resident of barangay Amomokpok in this town.
Dulfo Jr. was shot at the left side of his face and body while resisiting an apparent hold-up in full public view. Angulo was shot at when he tried to help out.
The critically wounded Angulo was promptly brought to the Bicol Medical Center in Naga City but was declared dead on arrival.
The police also said the victims were carrying large amount of the cash out of sales of cattle during the fiesta.
Accodring to witnesseses who refuse to be identified out of fear, the suspects took the bags and wallets of the victims before fleeing.
The Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) team recovered 14 empty shells from Caliber 45 and 9-MM pistols at the crime scene.
Mayor Aquino said the local government unit (LGU) of Ragay is determined to put a stop to armed robberies in his area. He has directed the police to field mobile patrols at the terminal and to provide funds for the installation of CCTV cameras at the terminal station and other strategic places. (SONNY SALES)
