NAGA CITY (June 4, 2012) - Generally seen as in preparation for the 2013 mid-term election, 400 new members of the Liberal Party (LP) coming from all the provinces of the Bicol Region were swore in Saturday (June 2) at the Villa Caceres Hotel in this city by Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo.

LIberal Party is the party of President of Benigno Aquino III who is expected to support both his Senatorial ticket as well as local bets nationwide.

LP Party Treasurer and facilitator Obet Bercasio said that simultaneous to the two-day training of some 150 LP facilitators, over 250 new LP leaders from the Bicol provinces of Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes and Masbate took their oath as party-members in one of the biggest local political party gatherings barely a year before the mid-term election in 2013.

Bercasio said the training seminar for new LP members is a requirement “to preserve party principles particularly now that many local leaders are wanting to join the LP."

Aside from Sec. Robredo, other high ranking party members like Presidential political affairs officers, “Dong” Cosio; LP director general Gladys Sta Rita and LP directorate member Henry Bacunay attended the mass oath-taking.
