Naga City - As global awareness grew for the past 5 years on the need to save our Planet Earth thru energy conservation and environment preservation, Camella Naga together with its mother company Vista Land and other Camella branches and sister companies nationwide have joined hand in hand last March 31 in support for the first time the observance of “Earth Hour+ 2012” .
With the company’s initial theme for the said event: “United To Save The Planet”, the union was held at exactly 8:30 in the evening with an artful ceremonial switching of non-essential electrical lights and equipments within the subdivision to candle lights. The significant move was held at the Gazeebo in Camella Heights in Bgy. del Rosatio, Naga City with 100% support from its homeowners.
Earth Hour which started in 2007 in Australia is an awareness campaign that encourages all to turn off their lights for an hour, and thereby be mindful in adopting a low-carbon lifestyle to help address the threats of global warming. From its organizing environmental group, the WWF of Austrilia, it gradually amplified to its own country and since then bloomed to other countries like ours with its universal title for the year, “I Will If You Will”. Governments, private corporations, communities and individuals all over the world are called on to be a part of this yearly noble advocacy every last Saturday of March.
The synchronized global concern in this part of the country was performed by Camella Naga officers, staff, associate brokers, guests and homeowners in support to the program called in by the WWF Austrilia as well as by our President Benigno Aquino III and Naga City Mayor John Bongat. (Gary Tiongson)
