NAGA CITY (April 11 2012) —The City Police has identified the 'chop-chop' victim whose body parts were found two day ago by local residents stuffed in two rice sacks dumped near a creek, half a kilometer from the main road at Zone 1, Barangay Cararayan in this city.

A team of forensic experts from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Crime Laboratory at Camp Simeon Ola Legazpi City conducted a post-mortem examination on the remains yesterday (April 10).

City Police director, Senior Supt. Antonio Nilayan Gardiola Jr. identified the “chop-chop man” as Loreto Orlanda Murillo, 36, a livestock butcher working for a popular meat shop at Magsaysay Avenue and resident of sitio Caromatig, Pacol in this city.

According to PO2 Alexander Lapid, investigator of the Naga City Police Office (NCPO) Investigation and Detective Management Branch, the victim’s body parts were identified by three of his brothers - Richard, Renato and Rolland.

The Murillo brothers noted the identifying marks, including a tattooed word, “tribal,” on the left hand, another tattoo on the left thigh and the name “Jun” also tattooed on the right hand of the victim.

A medico-legal officer also noted a lone stab wound on the right thigh of the victim.

Lapid said Murillo’s mutilated body was discovered Monday (April 9) when a local resident reported to the PNP Manuver II, Sub-station at San Rafael, Cararayan of finding cut off body parts contained in two sacks. Murillo's upper and lower extremities were all cut off from his torso and his head is still missing.

Family members said Murillo had been missing since March 29.
