GMA-7 artist Gwen Zamora was chosen to be the lead actress of the international film The Witness, which will also be shown in the Philippines this March.

After appearing in several television shows and local movies, Gwen embarks to a thrilling challenge in her career as an artist – showing the international audiences her acting prowess through The Witness.

Gwen, who is the only Filipina cast member of the said film, assures moviegoers that she did her best to be at par with her co-actors. Asked how she feels to be chosen as the movie's lead actress, Gwen answers, “I feel honored and most thankful to GMA Artist Center for giving me the chance to do a movie abroad with Skylar. I’m very thankful because without their support, I wouldn’t have done what I did. I learned so much in a span of a month and a half. It was just an amazing experience.”

Gwen portrays the role of Angel Fordeliza Isagani, a General Manager of a hotel, who was transferred from Manila to the Jakarta hotel. She is haunted by strange dreams about a young man named Aris who attempted suicide by firing his own gun into his mouth.

Frequently seen on GMA-7’s comedy gag show “Bubble Gang,” Gwen shares what kind of Gwen, the actress, the moviegoers can expect in The Witness. “With my past projects here in the Philippines , it was mostly about being angelic and wholesome. But this movie was really intense! Here I had to run, fall, scream, and cry. It was really something I never got the chance to do, lalo na on TV.”

After doing the movie, Gwen says that she’s now a different person and actress altogether. “When I came back, I was so full of energy. I was probably stuck up with six months worth of adrenalin. When I came back and saw my Bubble Gang family, I kept on talking and talking about The Witness. And they were laughing at me! They said, ‘O, you’re a different Gwen! You’re more confident now!’ And it’s true because I got to see myself do what I did and now, I give my self more credit. I’m more confident when I’m on set – I know now what I have to do. This project gave me the certainty that I needed.”

Gwen adds, “It was so fun and a very great honor for me doing the film because I made new friends with such good actors from Indonesia .”

Join Gwen as her character, Angel, finds answers to the dreams that keep on haunting her. Don’t miss “The Witness” on March 21, 2012 on theaters nationwide.
