NAGA CITY-Police investigators are yet to find out who raped and killed April Joy, 7, who on Sunday was found lifeless and without clothes beside a creek in Barangay Cagaycay in Goa town in Camarines Sur.
"Laboratory examination found out that the victim had laceration in her genitals, proof that she had been raped before she was killed," said PO3 Edmundo Trinidad of Goa town police.
He said a blow to the head by a blunt object killed the victim, who had been seen swimming in the creek before she was reported missing.
Another dead body was found beside a road by a barangay tanod (village watchman) very early on Saturday in Barangay Mangayawan in Canaman town, police said.
The victim was identified as Angel Bautista, 45, married and resident of the same village.
Police said Bautista, who was found with wounds on his face and body, was hacked to death by still unidentified assailant.
The killings, including those reported form Libmanan town, were among the rash of killings that had occurred in the province in the first week of August. Jonas Cabiles Soltes
