Swiss national dies in vehicular accident

DAET, Camarines Norte – The local police in this Capital town is investigating the death of a Swiss national who died in a collision involving a garbage truck owned by the local government and a motorcycle being driven by the victim.

The truck driver reportedly fled the scene of the accident.

Daet Municipal police station head, Supt. Winston Molina De Belen said on Thurs. (Oct. 11) that Swiss national Heinz Bulhmann Scherrer, 62, a resident of Panol Drive, barangay Camambugan in this locality died on impact when his black Yamaha 750.CC “big bike” (without a plate number) collided with a garbage truck with plate No. RGN 405, driven by a certain Obet Savilla at the Diversion road of Daet near the Integrated Terminal.

Reportedly, Scherer and his big bike was dragged about 92 feet from the point of impact.

Scherrer was declared dead on arrival at the Santissima Trinidad Hospital in this locality.

Witnesses identified Savilla as the driver who fled from the accident scene. The police has yet to confirm if Savilla is indeed an employee of the local government of Daet. (SONNY SALES).
