CAMP GEN. SIMEON A. OLA, Legazpi City, Oct. 20 (PNA) -– A total of 307 police recruits took their oath of office in front of the men and women of Police Regional Office 5 at the parade ground of this camp on Tuesday.
Police Chief Supt. Augusto Morales Marquez, Jr., Bicol police director, administered the oath taking of the recruits composed of 77 females and 230 males.
The new police officers were chosen after a stringent screening process was conducted.
"As you enter the portals of the Regional Training Center 5 to take the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course, you are just taking the first step towards becoming a public servant and the beginning of a long, arduous journey towards your respective careers,” Marquez said.
"You are now in the corps of the men and women whose mandate and solemn duty is to enforce the law and to serve and protect humanity.”
Marquez also encouraged everyone to finish their Public Safety Basic Recruit Course and never to quit, which was answered by a resounding “Yes” from the 307 police recruits.
After the oath-taking, the new police officers were properly turned over to the officials of the training center to undergo their one-year training.
There was also MOA signing between the Police Regional Office 5 and Southeast Occupational Health and Environmental Safety Service Inc. (SOHESSI) represented by Dr. Orlando B. Braga as president.
The agreement states that the industrial clinic will provide 15-percent discount on its in-house medical services and 10-percent discount for dependents of the uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of Police Regional Office 5.
The SOHESSI Industrial Clinic is a health care facility authorized by the Department of Health, Department of Labor and Employment and other authorized governmental regulatory agencies.
The facility is equipped and has the capacity to perform physical examinations, diagnostic laboratory procedures, digital radiology, ultrasound (3D and 4D), immunization, occupational health and safety services, dental services, optical services, pulmonary function test, drug screening, HIV screening and audiometric screening.(PNA) LAP/LOR/FGS/CBD
