GMA News and Public Affairs’ newest drama anthology Karelasyon started strong as it led the ratings for two straight weeks since its debut last April 11 according to data from the industry's widely-trusted ratings service provider, Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.
Karelasyon’s pilot episode which featured the love triangle between a mother, her lover, and her gay son portrayed by Mylene Dizon, Mark Herras, and Martin del Rosario, respectively, prevailed with a NUTAM household average rating of 13.6 percent, 2.1 points ahead of ABS-CBN’s Ipaglaban Mo which only managed 11.5 percent.
Its succeeding episode aired last April 18 posted an average of 13.6 percent (based on overnight data) with Ipaglaban Mo trailing behind by 1.6 points at 12.0 percent. The said episode told the story of a woman who used to be her husband’s dream girl until she failed to take care of herself and of her husband’s needs as their family grew. It starred Valerie Concepcion, Marco Alcaraz, and Pinky Amador.
This Saturday, witness another thorny relationship story in Karelasyon as it features Starstruck alumni Kris Bernal and Rocco Nacino portraying the characters of married couple Lily and Paul, together with Karen de los Reyes playing Rowena.
The episode tells the story of Lily and Paul, a couple who longs to have a child. Just as they were about to give up, they meet the then pregnant Rowena. She made a deal to have her baby adopted by the couple in exchange for money.
Out of Lily and Paul’s generosity, they agreed to let Rowena stay with them to ensure her safe pregnancy. Rowena’s stay later posed complications and problems for Lily and Paul as Rowena’s demands went beyond money.
Hosted by Carla Abellana, look into the obstacles Lily and Paul had to face in their desire to create a family of their own in an episode inspired by a true story. Written by Danzen Santos under the direction of Zig Dulay, catch Karelasyon this Saturday, April 25, 2:30PM, after Eat Bulaga on GMA.
