NAGA CITY, April 23 (PIA) --- The local government unit of San Jose was finally given a green light by members of its Municipal Development Council (MDC) to put into full swing and implement the 23 priority projects worth 5.8M to its respective allocations.
In the council meeting presided by San Jose Mayor Antonio B. Chavez just recently, Resolution No. 15-02 -series of 2015 which officially affirms the said move, was unanimously approved by the council appropriating the aforementioned amount for the 2015 Supplemental Budget of the Municipality of San Jose. The fund was sourced out from the 2013 and 2014 surpluses as well as the 2013 Continuing Appropriation.
In a press statement sent by San Jose IT Group Administrator Gil Gregorio, concurrently the PIO designate, the said apportionment came from the LGUs appropriation worth ₱4.9 Million plus the KALAHI and BUB counterpart worth ₱900,000.
The LGU is mandated to provide an equivalent of 10% of its Local Development Fund in order to be qualified to implement the Bottoms-up Budgeting projects hence the allocation of ₱1.0 Million.
Priority development projects which will be funded using the said appropriation include the riprapping of roadside and concreting of road shoulder in Barangay Bongliw, Pugay, repair of drainage cross pipes in Barangay Mampirao, construction of multi-purpose pavements in Barangays Calalahan and Salogon and the road opening in Sitio Cayagon, Camagong.
These projects are aimed at making more and more rural areas passable and accessible to the members and community. The development of the town’s barangay access roads will also help the farmers to easily transport their goods from their farms going to the market.
Added up to these inner-road development project is the concreting of barangay road in Mampirao, construction of slope protection in the barangay road in Minoro, concreting of barangay road in Bagacay, improvement of drainage cover in Barangay San Juan and road widening project in Barangay Soledad.
As Chavez equates progress to the realization of structures and other infra projects aimed at easing the burden of his constituents, he has also allocated fund for the improvement of multi-purpose building in Dolo and Pugay, construction multi-purpose building (bodega) in Sitio Talisay, Dolo, improvement of multi-purpose building (stage), repair of multi-purpose building in Manzana and construction of multi-purpose building in Salogon.
Part of the fund will also go to the repair and improvement of comfort room in the Cultural Center in Barangay San Juan, construction of water system (free flowing) in Calawit, Mampirao and Bahay; repair, maintenance and improvement of facilities of Public Market in Boclod and Municipal Port in Sitio Talisay, Dolo.
