April 15 is deadline for filing of ITRs -BIR

MANILA, April 14 -- The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) today said that April 15, 2015 is the deadline for the filing of Income Tax Returns.

 The clarification came amidst conflicting reports from various sectors, including media, that the deadline is now June 15, 2015.
 
“The June 15, 2015 deadline is for the electronic filing of NO PAYMENT Income Tax Returns using the eBIRForms. This is for those who are required to file their income tax returns electronically but who will opt in the meantime to file their NO PAYMENT income tax returns manually on or before April 15, 2015. Having filed their returns manually, they must re-file their income tax returns electronically on or before June 15, 2015,” said Commissioner Kim S. Jacinto-Henares in a press statement.
 
The penalties imposed under Revenue Regulations (RR) No. 5-2015 on filing using a mode/venue different from that prescribed shall be imposed if the subject Income Tax Returns are not re-submitted electronically on or before June 15, 2015.
 
The June 15, 2015 deadline for electronic filing using the eBIRForms does not include Income Tax Returns with payments. 
 
For new Electronic Filing and Payment System (eFPS) enrollees who cannot complete their registration with Authorized Agent Banks (AABs), they shall file their returns electronically and shall manually pay rwith AABs/Revenue Collection Officers not later than April 15, 2015. They must however cobimplete their ePayment registration not later June 15, 2015; otherwise, all returns filed ele9ctronically and paid over-the-counter shall be subjected to penalties pursuant to RR No. 5-2015.
