This Sunday, join vet Doc Nielsen Donato as he gets up close with tigers in Thailand while Doc Ferds Recio helps a rescued dolphin in Pangasinan in Born to Be Wild on GMA-7.
Doc Nielsen continues his story on Thailand’s Tiger Temple. Here, tourists interact and play with tiger cubs and adult tigers under the supervision of trainers. Yet even though the tigers seem friendly enough, dangers still exist. Last year, a female tourist was bitten by an adult tiger when she tried to take a photo with the animal. A tiger’s temperament may change quickly. They can be handled in one moment then can show their wild instincts in just a snap. Doc Nielsen also probes if the temple, which is now a breeding center, is able to contribute to the conservation of wild tiger populations.
Last week, twenty-seven dolphins were stranded in different parts of Pangasinan. Some were found dead, others were injured. One of the survivors, a dolphin called Julia, is being rehabilitated in a BFAR facility. Doc Ferds meets and joins a team of vets and volunteers caring for the animal.
Don’t miss another exciting episode of Born to be Wild this Sunday after AHA! on GMA-7.
