‘Ina’ goes back to Naga for Peñafrancia feast

MANILA, Sept. 4, 2012—After four months of visiting parishes and corporate offices in Manila and nearby provinces, the pilgrim image of “Ina,” or Bicolandia’s Our Lady of Peñafrancia, is set to return to Naga City tomorrow.

“Ina” will be brought back to Naga City via the Philippine National Railways’ (PNR) special pilgrim train, ahead of the week-long celebration of the Peñafrancia fiesta scheduled on the third week of the month.

But before “Ina” leaves for Naga City, the PNR will host an overnight vigil and homage by devotees tonight at the Tutuban Station in Manila. A Thanksgiving Mass will also be celebrated before “Ina’s” sendoff.

“Ina’s” 7 a.m. sendoff will be led by PNR general manager Junio Ragrario, who invited devotees to join “Ina’s” trip back home for special fare rates. Fare rates are at P665.00 for Family Sleeper, P540.00 for Reclining Seats and P416.00 for aircon commuter-type seats.

Marilyn Flores of the “3 Million Rosaries for ‘Ina’” Crusade, the organizer of “Ina’s” visitation tour, invited “Ina’s” devotees in Manila to join their trip back to Naga City

“Take this rare opportunity of being up close and personal with Ina for a day of rosary vigils and singing! A fitting way to start the Peñafrancia Fiesta celebration with the Traslacion on September 7,” she said.

“Ina’s” Pilgrim Train will make prayer whistle stops in Tagkawayan, Del Gallego, GRS, Ragay, Lupi, Sipocot, Libmanan and Pamplona.

“Ina” will be escorted home by the “3 Million Rosaries” Crusaders, the PNR management, members of the Consortium of High School Batch ’75 classes of the University of Ateneo de Naga, University of Colegio de Sta. Isabel and the University of Nueva Caceres including members of the media who will cover the event. (CBCP News)
