GMA's newest epic serye, INDIO, kicked-off its pilot episode last night,
January 14 with high ratings.

Based on the Mega Manila overnight ratings gathered by the more widely
recognized TV ratings supplier, Nielsen TV Audience Measurement, INDIO
marked a household rating of 29.3% and ruled over its counterpart
program Princess and I which only garnered 23.1%.

Doc Ferds Recio travels to the island of Sumatra in Indonesia to look for what villagers call “the man-eater”. This animal, according to locals, kills and eats humans in their community. In 2010, a 19-year old girl working in a palm oil plantation was attacked and killed by the “man-eater”. 

To uncover the mystery, Doc Ferds visits Riau Province in Sumatra . It is here that he discovers that the so-called “man-eater” is the critically endangered Sumatran Tiger. The Sumatran Tiger is the last species of endemic tigers in Indonesia .

Broadcast giant GMA Network, Inc. (GMA) ended 2012 on a positive note, leading other local free-to-air channels in full year nationwide TV ratings for the second consecutive year, according to data from the industry's leading ratings service provider, Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.

GMA overtook its closest rival ABS-CBN in National Urban TV Audience Measurement (NUTAM) in January 2011, and has since sustained nationwide ratings leadership.

For the period January to December 2012 (December 16 to 31 based on overnight data), GMA scored an average total day household audience share of 34.4 percent, outscoring ABS-CBN's 31.5 percent by 2.9 points, and TV5's 15.1 percent by 19.3 points.

GMA Network, in its reply to Sarah Lahbati’s latest tweets, maintains that the actress – a homegrown talent developed, trained, and promoted by GMA – has violated its contract with the network.

In the said statement the Kapuso Network said that it is “not going to comment at this time on the other statements of Sarah Lahbati that has no relevance to the violation of her contract with GMA.” It further added that the walk-out incident involving the actress is still being investigated.

GMA Network marked another winning performance as it continues its nationwide ratings lead over the weekend, according to data from the industry's widely trusted ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.

This Wednesday, the vets’ mission to give free medical treatment to domestic animals and wildlife continues.  Doc Ferds Recio finds a wildlife sanctuary in Isabela province where animals have not been seen by a vet for three years.  Among his patients: a large python with a wound on its snout, and a horse with a tumor.  Doc Nielsen Donato meanwhile gives back to his hometown in Laguna by treating domesticated animals that need attention.  There he meets horses, pigs, and a monkey chained to a tree branch.  But the work is just beginning.

Last week, Born To Be Wild host Doc Nielsen Donato and the team of Mabuwaya Foundation began their night survey to look for wild Philippine crocs in the marshes of San Mariano in Isabela. From a watchtower, they started to spot the crocs and saw nine pairs of flaming red-orange eyes. Upon confirming the presence of the crocs, the team started to wade into knee-deep waters. They hope to measure the crocs to find out whether those that were released here some years ago are growing in size and in numbers.
