  • The Catanduanes State University (CSU) official tertiary student publication’s literary folio won the Second Place award in the 73rd National Student Press Convention of the College Editors Guild of the Philippines (CEGP) on April 12-16 at University of San Carlos, Cebu City. The sixth edition of the CSU Statesman’s Abacatanduanes: Ikaanim na Paghahabi book bagged the 14th Gawad ERJ Ikalawang Pinakamahusay na Literary Folio award, along with the Philippine Normal University’s Aklas, First Place Winner, and Ateneo de Davao University’s Banaag Diwa, 3rd Place Winner.

    Named after CEGP President Emeritus Ernesto Rodriguez Jr. the annual Gawad ERJ awards outstanding student publications in the country. Aside from giving recognition to the technical excellence and content of each article in a publication, Gawad ERJ also aims to raise the standard of campus journalism and develop conscious and patriotic student writers.

  • An alumna of the Catanduanes State Colleges, now Catanduanes State University (from undergraduate to post graduate studies) Tapel was honored by the Los Angeles District Attorney, USA, with the Courageous Citizens Award on April 12, 2013. She, along with three other equally valiant citizens of Los Angeles, USA, respectively received the honor from District Attorney Jackie Lacey.

  • Dr. Minerva I. Morales was unanimously elected as the Catanduanes State University's (CSU) first President during the CSU Board of Regents meeting on March 25, 2013 at CHED Central Office, UP Diliman Campus.

    The election was chaired by Dr. Patricia B. Licuanan, Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education. It likewise culminated the almost two months search process which officially started on February 4, 2013 following the widest publication and dissemination of notice and search for CSU presidency in national and local newspapers, Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) member institutions, and in all academic and administrative offices of CSU.

  • Three researches of Catanduanes State Colleges bagged top awards in the 3rd Bicol Fisheries Research, Development and Extension (RDE) Symposium – Scientific Paper Competition held on July 25-27 2012 at Camarines Norte State College – Mercedes Campus.

    Adjudged First Place (aquaculture category) was the study titled 'Designing a Community-based Marine Hatchery in Catanduanes Following a Modified Tool for Site Evaluation.' Dr. Minerva I. Morales, Dr. Jimmy T. Masagca, Dr. Myrna A. Santelices, Dr. Aida A. Dianela, Mr. Felix F. Villacorta, and Mr. Ricardo V. Arcilla, Jr. authored/co-authored this study and was presented by Dr. Masagca in the competition.

  • Catanduanes State Colleges bagged the top prize in song writing competition and second and third prizes in the photography contest during the Region V Philippine Association of Tertiary Level Education Institutions in Environmental Protection and Management (PATLEPAM) Conference on July 25-27, 2012 at Aquinas University in Legazpi City.

    CSC’s winning entry in the song competition titled ‘Luntiang Pangarap’ was a collaborative work of BSEd - MAPE majors Arjay U. Panti, Jose Z. Tria, Joseph Broz T.Tito, Mark Joyces M. Tapel, and Prof. Cresencia G. Arcilla, who also served as the trainer. 

  • Jonathan V. Tulod, a fifth year Civil Engineering student of Catanduanes State Colleges (CSC) was awarded as one of the Ten Outstanding Students of Bicol (TOSB) for School Year 2011-212 by Ako Bicol Partylist (AKB), Philippine Association of College Student Advisers (PACSA) and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office V.

    He received a trophy and P20,000 cash prize, along with other top winners from Region V during the awarding ceremonies at the University of Saint Anthony in Iriga City on March 9, 2012. 

  • CSC Statesman, the official tertiary student publication of the Catanduanes State Colleges, together with its editors, brought home 12 major awards in the 11th Luzonwide Higher Education Press Congress on February 8-10, 2012 in Balanga, Bataan.

    Close to 800 student writers, who are all top five winners from Regions 1, 2, 3, 4-A, 4-B, 5, Cordillera Administrative Region and Region 7 (Cebu), competed for the Top 10 awards in the Luzonwide edition of individual writing and group competitions. 

  • VIRAC, Catanduanes (Nov 27, 2011) - They all share lots of common denominators aside  from having almost similar sounding names.  And these parallelisms must be the lucky charms that catapulted them to the top.

    Benjie T. Pantino, Benjames T. Go, and Jerwin DL. Rendon made another resounding history for the Catanduanes State Colleges (CSC) when they snared the Top 1-2-3 ranks in the November 2011 Civil Engineer Licensure Examination given by the Professional Regulation Commission.

  • VIRAC, Catanduanes (July 20, 2011) - Dr. Minerva I. Morales, the new president of the Catanduanes State Colleges, formally started her term of office on July 18, 2011 during a simple but historic turnover ceremony at the CSC Main Building Front Grounds after the Monday Flag Ceremony attended by CSC employees and students.
