Fire hits public utility bus in Masbate

MASBATE CITY, Nov. 9 (PNA) -- A passenger bus from Placer town going to Cubao, Quezon City caught fire at about 9:45 a.m. Sunday along the highway in Barangay Magsaysay, Uson, Masbate province.

The bus crew members and about 15 passengers were unharmed.

A police report said the engine of a green RORO Bus with body number 901 and licensed plate TXW 354, was heading to Masbate City when the conflagration hit.

The report said the fire was possibly due to faulty electrical wiring and was immediately extinguished with water by driver Apolonio Roberto Claus of Barangay Talumpok Kanluran, Batangas City.

He was assisted by co-driver Edison Encinada of Malabon City in Metro Manila.

Members of Uson Municipal Police Station (UMPS) responded at the scene of incident and gave assistance to the bus crew men and passengers.

The UMPS has already referred the case to the Bureau of Fire Protection. (PNA) JMC/FGS/NBT/CBD/EBP
